Coffee Hand Scrub

This one is for coffee lovers. Although I love the smell of a freshly brewed cup of coffee I do not drink it for fear of bouncing off the walls in a caffeine frenzy! This scrub is a great exfoliater as well as a moistuiser. This can be used on the feet as well as the hands. I recommend that you put this on over the sink as it can get messy!

INGREDIENTS

2 tblspn used ground coffee beans

2 tblspn cocoa (optional)

1 tspn boiling water

1 tspn cream or milk

2 tspn olive oil

PREPARATION

Mix coffee and boiling water together to a paste. Add the cocoa powder if using it.
Add cream/milk. Then add the olive oil.
Pour a small amount over the hands and rub over the skin in a circular motion.
Repeat until all of the mixture has gone.
Rinse hands with water and pat dry

Coconut Hand treatment

This will make your hands feel so soft and refreshed! Yet another great use for the fabulous coconut!

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup coconut oil

1/2 cup granulated sugar

Juice of 1 lemon

Cotton gloves

PREPARATION

Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
Rub the mixture over your hands.
Brush off any excess mixture and then put on the cotton gloves. Leave them on overnight and by morning you will have soft, silky hands.

Brown Sugar Hand Softner

The sugar in my cupboards has only one use and that is external! This is a lovely way to soften the hands and give them a well deserved scrub. This leaves your hands feeling as soft as if you had never done the dishes since you were born.

I use baby oil with a scent for an added extra as I love the smell.

INGREDIENTS

1/4 brown sugar (coarser the better)

Baby oil, to make into a paste

PREPARATION

Mix the sugar with the baby oil, using enough oil to make a paste.
Use a hand washing motion to apply the mixture to the hands.
Scrub over the hands for a minute and wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Enjoy your soft hands! You will want to start shaking everyone hands just so they can feel the softness.

Lemon and Olive Nail and Cuticle Treatment

This is an easy way to look after your nails and cuticles. It will leave your nails refreshed, shiny and cared for. It contains apple cider vinegar which I love almost as Baking soda for its many uses! Easy to make and a nice uplifting citrus smell!

INGREDIENTS

1 egg yolk

3 tspns extra virgin olive oil

3 tspns apple cider vinegar

1 drop lemon essential oil

PREPARATION

Mix all the ingredients together using a whisk.
Apply to the nails and nail beds.
Let it sink in and then reapply using massaging it in so it sinks in
Use all of it and admire your shiny nails!

Citrus Cuticle Rub

This should make your hands feel refreshed and your cuticles soft. Lemon and honey are a Diva’s best beauty friend at times!

INGREDIENTS

2 tspn lemon juice

1 tspn honey

1/2 cup warm water

PREPARATION

Mix in a small metal or glass bowl that”s large enough to accomodate your hand. Soak fingertips for approximately 5 minutes. Rinse and pat dry. Enjoy!
